Installation Guide — ReStockly

Quick Start: Get ReStockly up and running in minutes

1. Introduction

Welcome to ReStockly! This installation guide will walk you through setting up ReStockly on your BigCommerce store and choosing the right subscription plan for your business.

ReStockly is a powerful BigCommerce app that automatically collects customer email subscriptions when products go out of stock and sends instant notifications when items are back in inventory. We offer three flexible subscription tiers—Free, Starter, and Professional—to match stores of any size.

This guide covers everything from installation to advanced configuration, including guidance on selecting the right plan for your needs. Follow the steps sequentially for the best experience.

  • Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge (latest versions)
  • JavaScript enabled
  • Cookies enabled for session management

3. Installation Steps

Step 1: Access BigCommerce App Marketplace

Log into your BigCommerce admin panel and navigate to Apps > Marketplace. Search for "ReStockly" in the search bar.

Step 2: Install ReStockly

Click on the ReStockly app card, review the app details, and click the "Install" button. You'll be redirected to the ReStockly authorization page.

Step 3: Authorize Permissions

ReStockly requires the following permissions to function properly:

  • Read product information and inventory levels
  • Read customer data (for subscriptions)
  • Write widget settings to your store
  • Access webhook endpoints for inventory updates

Click "Authorize" to grant these permissions. This is a secure, one-time authorization process.

Step 4: Complete Account Setup

After authorization, you'll be redirected to complete your ReStockly account setup:

  • Enter your email address for account management
  • Select your subscription plan
  • Complete payment setup (if required)
  • Confirm store connection

4. Selecting Your Plan

a) Understanding ReStockly's Three Tiers

ReStockly offers three flexible subscription tiers to match your business needs:

  • <strong>Free Plan ($0/month):</strong> Perfect for testing and small stores. Includes up to 50 subscriptions, 5 products max, basic widget customization, and community support.
  • <strong>Starter Plan ($9.99/month):</strong> Ideal for growing businesses. Unlimited subscriptions and products, advanced widget features (stock indicator, subscriber count), and email support.
  • <strong>Professional Plan ($24.99/month):</strong> Best for established stores. Everything in Starter plus full email customization, advanced analytics dashboard, CSV export, and priority support.

b) Choosing the Right Plan

Start with the Free Plan to test ReStockly with your store. Once you confirm the integration is working correctly and you're receiving subscriptions, upgrade to Starter or Professional based on your needs:

  • Stay on Free if: You have fewer than 50 subscriptions/5 products and want basic functionality
  • Choose Starter if: You need unlimited subscriptions/products and want advanced widget features
  • Choose Professional if: You want to customize email templates, access advanced analytics, and export data

c) Upgrading Your Plan

You can upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time from your dashboard. When upgrading, new features become available immediately. When downgrading, your current plan remains active until the billing cycle ends. There are no long-term contracts.
